PennDOT District 11 is announcing lane restrictions on the Birmingham Bridge (Route 2085) in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will begin Monday, April 16 weather permitting.

A right-lane restriction will be implemented in each direction on the Birmingham Bridge between Carson Street and Fifth Avenue each weekday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. through Friday, April 27. Crews from AI Engineers, Inc. will install test monitoring equipment.

Additionally, short term stoppages will occur from 7 p.m. until approximately 11:59 p.m. on Monday, April 23.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 850 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website.
