I-376 – Airport to Business Loop 376 Reconstruction
Project Start Date: Spring 2017
Project Completion: Winter 2018
This improvement project includes roadway reconstruction, concrete patching, sub-grade stabilizations, bridge rehabilitation work, drainage and guide rail improvements, signage upgrades, and ramp repairs. Work in 2017 will occur in the westbound direction between Business Loop 376 West (Exit 57) and approximately one mile east of the Airport (Exit 53) interchanges. Weekend-long restrictions, with one or two lane closures, will occur during the preparatory phase. Once prep work is complete, two lanes of westbound traffic will be maintained throughout the remainder of 2017, except for intermittent short-term single-lane closures during off-peak hours. Additional restrictions will occur on various ramps and on McClaren Road. Work in 2018 will occur primarily in the eastbound direction and will include a crossover. The project will conclude in mid-December 2018.
Two lanes of eastbound traffic will be shifted into the westbound lanes in 2018 to continue work on this project. Improvements include roadway reconstruction, concrete patching, subgrade stabilization, bridge rehabilitation work, drainage and guiderail improvements, signage upgrades and ramp repairs. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in the westbound direction during 2018 construction. Additionally, long-term closures of the ramps at the McClaren Road interchange and a 71-day closure of the ramp from eastbound I-376 to westbound Business Loop 376 will occur. The overall project will conclude in December 2018.
