PennDOT District 11 is announcing maintenance activities in the Fort Pitt Tunnel in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will begin Sunday night, May 19.

Single-lane restrictions will occur from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. each night according to the following schedule:

  • Outbound (westbound) – Sunday night, May 19 and Monday night, May 20
  • Inbound (eastbound) – Tuesday night, May 21 through Thursday night, May 23

Crews will conduct inlet cleaning, washing operations, and electrical maintenance.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 860 traffic cameras.
