PennDOT District 11 is announcing joint and crack sealing activities on Interstate 79 in South Fayette Township, Allegheny County will begin Friday, September 27 weather permitting.

Lane restrictions will occur each night from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., as needed, in both directions of I-79 between the PA Turnpike 576 West/Pittsburgh International Airport/Morganza Road (Exit 49) and the Route 50/Bridgeville (Exit 54) interchanges through early November.

Crack and joint sealing is a preservation activity that prolongs the life of road surfaces by preventing moisture from entering cracks and joints. Moisture can cause potholes and premature deterioration requiring more costly repairs.

Crews from Russell Standard will conduct the work.
