The Department of Public Works announced today that Little Deer Creek Bridge No. 5 in Harmar Township will close at 6 AM on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 for bridge work to begin. The, approximately three-month, closure will be followed by another month of flagging or lane restrictions as the project work is completed.

Crews will perform their work between 6 AM and 6 PM on weekdays, but the road closure will be required throughout the majority of the project work. Traffic will be detoured using Jacoby Road, Nixon Road, Hite Road, Allegheny Valley Expressway (Route 28), SR 910, Indianola Road, and Rich Hill Road. Drivers are urged to use caution in the area.

The work is being done by Carmen Paliotta Contracting, Inc. of South Park and includes a complete bridge replacement, bituminous paving, drainage, guide rail, signing and pavement markings, miscellaneous construction, and safety improvements. The 2019 Little Deer Creek No. 5 Bridge Replacement Project is a $1.1 million construction contract
