PennDOT District 11 is announcing tunnel washing activities in the outbound (westbound) Fort Pitt Tunnel in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will occur Monday and Tuesday nights, April 15-16.

A single-lane restriction will occur in the outbound Fort Pitt Tunnel from 9:30 p.m.  to 5:30 a.m. each night as crews conduct tunnel washing operations. Work will not begin until an hour after the Penguin game Tuesday night.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 860 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website.
