The Department of Public Works announced today that Blackburn Road at Thawmont Drive in Sewickley Heights Borough will close at 6 a.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2018. The closure, which is expected to last until the end of December, is required to replace a stone masonry-encased I-beam and reinforced concrete arch culvert with a new concrete pipe culvert and wall.

Traffic will be detoured using Blackburn Road, Water Works Road, Nevin Avenue, and Centennial Avenue.

The work is being done by Pugliano Construction of Plum, PA as part of the 2018 Capital Bridge Repair Project, which is a $2.2 million contract to address four structurally deficient bridges throughout the county.
