Continuing to prove its value to Pittsburgh commuters, RideACTA saw a 4% increase in ridership and added eight new stops over the past year. The shared-ride, flex-route service that transports people between the Super Stop at IKEA and nearly 250+ businesses, provided 82,000 rides during its 2017-2018 fiscal year. That equates to:
- 41,000 cars off of the road
- 2,788,000 vehicle miles saved
- 112,000 gallons of gasoline saved
- 27,000 tons of CO2 saved
Since its first year of service in 2009, RideACTA has provided over 615,000 rides and seen an overall increase in annual ridership of 73%. It also continues to add new locations and businesses to its list of stops. New locations added this year included Microtel Inn & Suites, At Home, Drury Inn & Suites, Stout Pub and Kitchen, Printscape Imaging & Graphics, David’s Bridal, Pool City and Dollar Tree. RideACTA now serves over 250 locations in the service area.
