The Department of Public Works announced that a section of Jacoby Road between Rosedale Road and Ecker Lane in Harmar Township will close at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2019. The closure, which is expected to last about three months followed by another month of lane restrictions and flagging, is required to replace Little Deer Creek Bridge No. 5.

In addition to replacement of the bridge, work includes new bituminous pavement, drainage, guide rail, signing and pavement markings, and other miscellaneous construction and safety improvements.

Crews will perform their work between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays, but the closure will be required throughout most of the project. Traffic will be detoured using Nixon Road, Hite Road, Allegheny Valley Expressway (Route 28), Indianola Road (State Road 910), and Rich Hill Road. Drivers are urged to use caution in the area.

The $1.1 million project is being done by Carmen Paliotta Contracting, Inc. of South Park Township.
