PennDOT District 11 is announcing the Route 30 improvement project in North Versailles Township and Forest Hills Borough, Allegheny County will restart Monday, May 4 weather permitting.

The $13.59 million project includes milling and resurfacing on Route 30 between Lenox Avenue in Forest Hills and Route 48 in North Versailles. Additional work includes drainage improvements, ADA curb ramp installation, guide rail updates, traffic signal upgrades, and sign and pavement marking installation.

Single-lane restrictions will begin on Route 30 beginning Monday morning. Work will occur according to the following schedule: 

  • Weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Weeknights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Weekends from 7 p.m. Friday night continuously through 6 a.m. Monday morning

Work times may change when higher traffic volumes resume. Additional details will be provided prior to schedule changes.

Additionally, single-lane and shoulder restrictions will occur on East Pittsburgh-McKeesport Boulevard under Route 30 between Irishtown Road and Navy-Marine Corps Way. Work will occur weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through late December. Weekend work may occur.

Gulisek Construction, LLC is the prime contractor.

Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, and relevant training.
