PennDOT District 11 is announcing rehabilitation work on the West Washington Street Bridge (Route 3010) over the Shenango River in the City of New Castle, Lawrence County, will begin Monday, March 4 weather permitting.
Long-term lane restrictions will occur on the bridge during construction beginning at 7 a.m. Monday morning. Traffic will be shifted into the lanes on the northern side of the bridge during the first phase of work. A single-lane in each direction will be maintained throughout the project, which will conclude in late October.
The $2.75 million project includes replacing the existing reinforced concrete decks and sidewalks, new concrete approach slabs, full superstructure painting, new lighting, and other minor repairs.
Motorists are advised to use caution, slow down, and be prepared for changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area. Work zone safety is everyone’s responsibility.
