PennDOT District 11 is announcing the long-term closure of the bridge that carries Weyman Road (Route 4070) over Saw Mill Run in Whitehall Borough, Allegheny County, will begin Monday, July 31 weather permitting.

Beginning at approximately 7 a.m. on Monday, the Weyman Road Bridge located between Provost Road and McRoberts Road will close to traffic around-the-clock through late November. All traffic will be detoured via Provost Road and Baptist Road.

Work will include a replacement of the existing structure with a box culvert, approach roadway reconstruction and waterline replacement work. The majority of work and traffic restrictions are expected to wrap by late fall with miscellaneous work continuing into the spring of 2024.

The prime contractor on this $1.74 million project is Allison Park Contractors.
