PennDOT District 11 is announcing bridge replacement work on the Flaugherty Run Bridge (Route 3089) over Business Loop 376 in Findlay Township, Allegheny County, will begin Monday, March 12 weather permitting.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Monday morning, periodic flagging operations will occur on the bridge from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday nights as crews conduct preparatory work for the first phase of the project. Additionally, traffic stoppages of 15 minutes or less may occur.
During the first phase of construction, traffic will be shifted onto the western side of the bridge. A single-lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction through early July during this phase.
Additionally, long-term shoulder restrictions will occur in each direction on Business Loop 376 through late June. A full closure and detour will occur on Business Loop 376 during beam removal and replacement work. Details will be provided prior to the work occurring.
This $4.38 million, two construction season project also includes approach roadway paving, excavation, and other miscellaneous construction activities. Carmen Paliotta Contracting Inc. is the prime contractor.
