PennDOT District 11 is announcing concrete reconstruction work on Route 837 (West Carson Street) in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will begin Sunday night, August 25 weather permitting.
Concrete reconstruction work will occur on West Carson Street between Smithfield Street and Station Square Drive beginning at 10 p.m. Sunday night and continuing around-the-clock through Sunday, October 20. To allow the work to occur, eastbound traffic on West Carson Street will be crossed over into the westbound lanes. A single-lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained in the westbound lanes during the first phase of work. Access to Station Square will be maintained during the improvement work, however, trucks will not be able to use Commerce Drive to enter Station Square. Trucks will use West Station Square Drive for access to Station Square.
As a reminder, patching work with lane restrictions will continue during off-peak daylight hours and overnights on West Carson Street between Station Square Drive and the West End Circle.
