The Department of Public Works announced that the start dates for previously announced single‑lane closures in Sewickley Heights Borough, Ross Township, and South Park Township have been delayed one week due to a mechanical issue with drilling equipment. The closures are needed so that crews can collect soil samples needed for the design of three future bridge projects.
The updated traffic restrictions are as follows:
- The southbound lane of Fern Hollow Road at Pink House Road in Sewickley Heights Borough will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2020 for drilling near Little Sewickley Creek South Branch Bridge No. 1.
- There will be alternating single-lane closures on McIntyre Road in Ross Township between Bryon Road and Thompson Run Road from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2020 for drilling near Pine Creek South Branch Bridge No. 10.
- There will be alternating single-lane closures on Wallace Road in South Park Township about 250 feet west of Cochran Mill Road from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020 for drilling near Lick Run Bridge No. 2.
Flaggers will be used to control traffic when the closures are implemented, and drivers are urged to use caution in the work zones.
The work will be done by AWK Drilling, Inc., of Turtle Creek, and it will cost $45,000.
