The Department of Public Works today announced that Thompson Run Road between West Sutter Road and Russell Road in Ross Township will close at 9 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2018. The closure, which is expected to last until the end of the June, is required for a road stabilization repair after a recent road failure and landslide. The project includes excavation of unsuitable material and placement of rock to stabilize the hillside, new drainage systems, and relocation of utilities.
Traffic will be detoured using McIntyre Road, McKnight Road, and Siebert Road. The road has been restricted to single-lane traffic in that area since February 21, 2018 because of the landslide.
The repair is being completed by A. Folino Construction of Oakmont, PA and is partially funded by the Federal Highway Administration.
