The Department of Public Works announced today that the start of work at the intersection of Lick Road and Bairdford Road in West Deer Township has been delayed eight days to better accommodate the schedule of both Public Works and its contractor. The project, which includes the elimination of Dawson Run Bridge No. 6, a road realignment, and stop sign installation, will now begin at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. It is still expected to end in November.

Crews will perform their work between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays. Drivers can expect to experience short stoppages in the work zone. Flaggers will be used to control traffic, and drivers are urged to use caution in the area.

The work is being done by Pugliano Construction of Pittsburgh as part of the 2018B Capital Bridge Repair Project, which is a $612,322 contract to address four structurally deficient bridges throughout the county.
