Project will involve traffic restrictions starting in April
The Department of Public Works announced today that work on Painters Run Road in Mt. Lebanon, Scott Township and Upper St. Clair will begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2020. It is expected to end in October 2020.
The project involves three parts:
- Crews will be making structural repairs to Painters Run Bridge No. 9, which is located on the 1800 block of Painters Run Road in Scott Township. That work will begin at 7 a.m. on March 9 and won’t initially require traffic restrictions. Starting in July, however, there will be a full closure of the road at the bridge.
- Crews will be making structural repairs to Painters Run Bridge No. 3, which is located about 350 feet east of the intersection of Painters Run Road and McMillan Road in Upper St. Clair. That work will begin after the repairs to Painters Run Bridge No. 9 are completed and will likely require traffic restrictions.
- Crews will be performing guide rail installation, drainage work, base repair, as well as milling and paving on Painters Run Road between Bower Hill Road and Cedar Boulevard in Mt. Lebanon, Scott Township and Upper St. Clair. That work will begin in April and will require short stoppages in work zones with flaggers controlling traffic.
Public Works will announce detour and other additional information closer to when the traffic restrictions are expected to begin. That information will be provided to the public via a press release, Facebook, Twitter, and Allegheny Alerts.
The project is being done by Northeast Paving, a division of Eurovia Atlantic Coast, LLC, of Pittsburgh, as part of the $10.7 million 2019 Capital Roads contract.
