Since 1990, the Airport Corridor Transportation Association (ACTA) has been working behind the scenes to make transportation in Pittsburgh’s western suburbs smarter, cleaner, and more accessible. Now, we’re inviting you to get to know us—and ride with us.
ACTA is a nonprofit Transportation Management Association (TMA) headquartered in Robinson Township. As one of only three TMAs in the Pittsburgh region, our mission is simple: improve mobility and reduce congestion while supporting economic development in the Airport Corridor. We collaborate with businesses, municipalities, and regional partners to create more sustainable transportation solutions for our growing communities.
But ACTA isn’t just about planning—we’re about action.
Meet RideACTA: Your 25¢ Ride to Work, Shopping, or Play
One of our most impactful programs is the RideACTA shuttle, an affordable, on-demand service that helps people get where they need to go in Robinson, North Fayette, Moon, and Findlay Townships. Whether you’re commuting to work, running errands, or connecting to public transit, rideACTA bridges the last mile—safely, reliably, and for just 25 cents per trip.
With service to over 275 businesses within a 1.5-mile radius of the IKEA Stop in Robinson, RideACTA is a lifeline for employees, residents, and visitors alike. Since launching in 2009, the service has completed over 850,000 rides and helped reduce traffic by taking more than 428,000 vehicles off the road.
RideACTA was born from a partnership between forward-thinking local leaders and organizations, including Bayer Corporation, the Port Authority of Allegheny County (now Pittsburgh Regional Transit), and Allegheny County. Their goal? Tackle traffic before it became a problem—and they succeeded.
Today, ACTA continues that legacy, working with employers large and small to make sure transportation isn’t a barrier to economic opportunity. In 2023 alone, RideACTA completed 26,494 rides, removed 13,247 cars from the road, and saved over 900,000 vehicle miles—helping to cut carbon emissions by 354 tons.
Small Ride, Big Impact
ACTA’s work is about more than transportation—it’s about creating a healthier, more connected region. Thanks to RideACTA, we’ve already saved over 1.17 million gallons of gasoline and eliminated more than 11,000 tons of CO₂ emissions. Every ride helps reduce our carbon footprint and eases congestion for everyone traveling through the Parkway West.
As we celebrate 15 years of RideACTA, we’re inviting you to ride with us, follow us, and join the movement toward a more sustainable Airport Corridor.
