The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Engineering District 11-0 and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) are pleased to invite you to attend a public informational meeting being conducted on Tuesday, August 5 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the Aliquippa East End Gateway project. This public meeting will provide preliminary project details, and tentative project schedule. The project team will be available to answer questions and gather feedback.
The meeting will be held:
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Date: Tuesday, August 5
Location: Aliquippa Junior/Senior High School, Gene Karmazyn Blackbox Theater, Entrance A, 100 Harding Avenue, Aliquippa, PA 15001
The project is located on Route 51 (Constitution Boulevard) in the City of Aliquippa, Beaver County Pennsylvania. The project consists of modifying the existing substandard on and off-ramps from Route 51 to Route 3016 (Franklin Avenue) with an at-grade intersection that meets current design standards. To accommodate the proposed at-grade intersection, the existing Route 51 bridge over Route 3016 will be removed and the following local roadways will be realigned: Cochran Street, Station Street and Hopewell Street. Route 51 will remain two through lanes with the addition of left and right-hand turning lanes to Franklin Avenue in the northbound direction and a left-hand turning lane to Franklin Avenue in the southbound direction. The project will also include the installation of new traffic signals, concrete islands, sidewalks, ADA curb ramps, drainage facilities, retaining walls, guiderail and other miscellaneous construction. This project is anticipated to be constructed in two construction seasons. This project is needed to modernize the current interchange and provide improved roadway continuity.
For those unable to attend, public meeting materials will be posted to the website following the public meeting along with a comment form to gather feedback. The project page can be found here:
