PennDOT District 11 is announcing ramp restrictions on I-376 (Parkway East) in the Municipalities of Penn Hills, Allegheny County, will begin Wednesday, March 20 weather permitting.
Starting Wednesday, single-lane and shoulder restrictions will occur on the eastbound I-376 on and off ramps to Penn Hills (Exit 81) and on Rodi Road in each direction between Business Route 22 (William Penn Highway) and Maple Lane weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through early July. Crews from Swank Construction Company, LLC will perform roadway rehabilitation, concrete curb and median replacement, concrete shoulder reconstruction, and other miscellaneous construction.
This work is part of the $73 million I-376 Parkway East Betterment Project. Work will include a superstructure replacement over Old William Penn Highway, two bridge rehabilitations over Old William Penn highway/Lougay Road/Sunset Drive and Thompson Run Road/Thompson Run/Union Railroad, and six bridge preservations along the I-376. Throughout the project motorists can expect long-term single-lane restrictions, several weekends with traffic down to a single lane, and a long-term crossover in 2025. The improvements on the 4.5 miles of the Parkway East between the Churchill/Route 130 (Exit 79B) and Monroeville/Business Route 22 (Exit 80) interchanges are anticipated to conclude in the fall 2026.
