PennDOT District 11 is announcing drilling operations on Interstate 79 in Franklin Park Borough and Marshall Township, Allegheny County will begin tonight, Wednesday, June 18 weather permitting.

Lane restrictions will occur on I-79 in both directions between the I-279 split and the Pennsylvania Turnpike weeknights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through early July. Restrictions will not occur in both directions simultaneously.

Crews from Armstrong Drilling will conduct drilling operations.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
