The Department of Public Works announced today that lane closures on Browns Hill Road between Beechwood Boulevard/Hazelwood Avenue and the Homestead Grays Bridge in Pittsburgh will start at on Monday, April 6, 2026. The lane closures, which are expected to end in May, are required to complete a repairs project that began last year. The remaining work includes roadway joint repairs and the installation of pavement markings.

One of the two inbound lanes will close periodically between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and one of the two outbound lanes will close periodically between 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. The timing of the lane closures was designed to avoid rush hours, but drivers should expect traffic delays in the area while work is occurring.

Pittsburgh Water implemented a long-term lane closure on Browns Hill Road on March 9 as part of the Browns Hill Road Sewer Pump Station replacement project. Public Works is coordinating with Pittsburgh Water to minimize traffic impacts for the two concurrent projects.

Browns Hill Road is used by an average of 40,000 drivers daily.

A. Folino Construction of Oakmont is the primary construction contractor for this project, which is part of a $6.3 million contract that includes work on 10 other roads.
