The Department of Public Works announced today that periodic lane closures on the David McCullough (16th Street) Bridge in Pittsburgh will occur between Monday, March 2 through Friday, March 6. The lane closures are required for a crew to safely conduct routine inspection activities.
The bridge inspection will be done by STV of Pittsburgh.
The 1,900-foot David McCullough Bridge carries an average of 14,656 vehicles daily over the Allegheny River between the North Shore and Strip District. During the bridge’s last inspection on February 5, 2024, inspectors gave it a condition rating of 5 (fair condition) on a 0-9 scale based on National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) established by the Federal Highway Administration.
