PennDOT District 11 is announcing a traffic shift on the ramp carrying traffic from northbound I-79 to Route 51 Coraopolis/McKees Rocks (Exit 64) in Robinson Township, Allegheny County will occur Thursday, May 15 weather permitting.
Traffic will be shifted onto the shoulder on the ramp from northbound I-79 to Route 51 Coraopolis/McKees Rocks (Exit 64) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday to allow crews to conduct median barrier installation work.
This work is part of the $43.9 million I-79 “S-Bend” Project that included full-depth pavement reconstruction, and bridge preservation work. Additionally, there was milling and paving of three ramps at the Route 51 (Coraopolis/McKees Rocks) interchange. The project also included guiderail replacement, highway lighting and signing upgrades, new pavement markings and delineation, and other miscellaneous construction work.
