The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing an overnight closure of the northbound Route 28 left-hand off-ramp to northbound Route 8 (Exit 5B) in Etna Borough, Allegheny County will occur Wednesday night, April 1 weather permitting.

To accommodate guide rail replacement work, the northbound Route 28 left-hand off-ramp to north Route 8/Butler (Exit 5B) will close to traffic from 9:00 PM Wednesday to 5:00 AM Thursday. Ramp traffic will be detoured.

  • From northbound Route 28 continue past the closed ramp
  • Take the Highland Park Bridge/Aspinwall (Exit 6) exit
  • Bear right for the off-ramp to Sharpsburg/Aspinwall
  • Turn left onto Freeport Road
  • Turn left onto the ramp for Route 28
  • Bear left for south Route 28/Pittsburgh
  • Take the north Route 8/Etna/Butler (Exit 5) exit
  • End detour
