PennDOT Engineering District 11 has announced the completion of $441 million in infrastructure investments across Allegheny, Beaver, and Lawrence counties during the 2024 construction season.

Key achievements include:

  • 53 projects delivered, including 741 miles of paving and 39 bridge repairs or replacements.
  • Significant projects in District 11 included:
    • Route 8 (Northtowne Square to Butler County) Betterment project in Allegheny County, $13.59 million.
    • I-79 (Neville Island to Moon Run) Improvement project in Allegheny County, $43.9 million.
    • Route 1038 New Kensington Bridge Preservation project in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties, $29.4 million.
    • Route 2048 William Penn Highway Rehabilitation and preservation project in Allegheny County, $23.84 million.
    • Route 3027 Smithfield Street Bridge Preservation project in Allegheny County, $8.49 million.
    • Route 2004 Freedom Road Upgrade project in Beaver County, $21.75 million.
    • I-79 (Butler County to Mercer County) Improvement project in Lawrence County, $11.62 million.
    • Route 837 Glenwood Pedestrian Structure project in Allegheny County. $6.5 million.
    • Route 51 Bridge Demolition project in Allegheny County, $3.2 million.
    • Rochester-Monaca Bridge Preservation project in Beaver County, $6.69 million
    • I-376 (Route 224 to PA Turnpike) Improvement project in Lawrence County, $8.5 million.
    • Route 3077 Beaver Grade Road Emergency Slide Repair project in Allegheny County, $5 million.
    • Route 65 (18th Street to Route 588) Betterment project in Beaver County, $6.23 million.
    • Route 65 (Savannah Road to Croton Avenue) Betterment project in Lawrence County, $7.61 million.

Looking ahead to 2025:

  • Route 50 (I-79 to Vanadium Road) Widening project in Allegheny County, $5.61 million.
  • I-79 (Campbell’s Run Road to Moon Run) Betterment project in Allegheny County, $14.97 million.
  • Route 8 (Butler Street to Route 28) Betterment project in Allegheny County, $9.14 million.
  • Route 28 Wrong Way Detection System Safety project in Allegheny County, $4.8 million.
  • I-376 Parkway West (Boyce Road to I-79) Preservation project in Allegheny County, $12.6 million.
  • I-376 Parkway East (Churchill to Monroeville) Betterment project in Allegheny County, $70.17 million.
  • Route 2040 Lebanon Church Road Improvement project in Allegheny County, $28.16 million.
  • Route 4003 McKnight Road Improvement project in Allegheny County, $25.5 million.
  • Route 3014 Golf Course Road Turnback Improvement project in Beaver County, $2.64 million.
  • Route 2006 East Washington Street Bridge Replacement project in Lawrence County, $7.28 million.
  • Route 885 Boulevard of the Allies Ramps Bridge Preservation project in Allegheny County, $44.9 million.
  • Route 3014 McKees Rocks Bridge Phase 2 Preservation project in Allegheny County, $38.6 million.
