As we approach the end of another year, all of us at ACTA have been reflecting on the incredible milestones and moments that shaped 2024. This year marked not only the 15th anniversary of the rideACTA shuttle but also 35 years of ACTA’s commitment to the Airport Corridor. It has truly been a year of growth, celebration, and a new chapter for our organization.
At the start of 2024, ACTA welcomed Jim Ruefle as our new Financial Manager. A longtime Pittsburgh resident with 14 years of experience in financial management across transportation management associations and nonprofits, Jim has brought a wealth of expertise and energy to ACTA. In the spring, we welcomed Mollie Crowe as our Marketing and Public Outreach Coordinator. With 7 years of experience in event planning, content marketing, and community outreach, Mollie has been instrumental in enhancing ACTA’s public presence.
Through the spring and summer, ACTA strengthened our outreach efforts, engaging directly with the community through a variety of initiatives. From direct mail campaigns promoting the rideACTA shuttle to participating in local events like the Robinson Township Library’s Annual Touch-A-Truck celebration and the Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce Legislative Breakfast, our mission to connect and inform has been at the forefront.
This momentum carried into the fall and winter months. In November, we celebrated the 15th anniversary of the rideACTA shuttle with an open house event to honor its legacy and future. Looking ahead, ACTA will join Pittsburgh Regional Transit on Tuesday, December 3rd, at the Robinson Township Library for a Bus Line Redesign Public Meeting. We’re also thrilled to sponsor the Moon Lights Holiday Festival on Saturday, December 7th. Stop by our booth between 5:00 PM and 7:30 PM to learn more about transportation demand management (TDM) and the rideACTA shuttle!
Finally, as December marks National Drunk & Drug-Impaired Driving Prevention Month, ACTA supports the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. With the holidays approaching, we remind everyone to plan ahead for a sober ride if you’re drinking and to never drive buzzed. Let’s all work together to ensure everyone gets home safely this season. Visit the NHTSA website for resources to keep yourself and others safe on the road.
From all of us at ACTA, we wish you a happy holiday season and a joyful new year!
