The Department of Public Works announced today that the Roberto Clemente (Sixth Street) Bridge in Pittsburgh will close from 6 a.m. on Monday, August 4 to 3 p.m. on Friday, August 8 and from 6 a.m. on Monday, August 11 to 3 p.m. on Friday, August 15. The closures are required for crews to safely conduct routine inspection activities.

Please note that Public Works has permitted the Pittsburgh Pirates, as per usual for weekend home games, to close the Roberto Clemente Bridge during parts of August 8-10.

During the closures, traffic will be detoured using Fort Duquesne Boulevard, the Andy Warhol (Seventh Street) Bridge, and Isabella Street.

The bridge inspection will be done by STV of Pittsburgh and Consor Engineers of South Fayette.

The 995-foot Roberto Clemente Bridge carries an average of 7,895 vehicles daily over the Allegheny River between Downtown and the North Shore. The bridge, which opened in 1928, underwent a $36.3 million rehabilitation project from 2022 to 2023. It has not been inspected since completion of the rehabilitation project.
