PennDOT District 11 is announcing drainage improvement work is underway on Pillow Avenue (Route 1017) in Springdale Township, Allegheny County.

Drainage work requiring the closure of a portion of Pillow Avenue will occur continuously through late October between Hite Road and Low Grade Road. Crews from A. Liberoni, Inc. will conduct drainage improvements including pipe replacement and inlet installation work. Traffic will be detoured.

South of the Closure

  • From Pillow Avenue, turn onto Low Grade Road
  • Low Grade road becomes Cheswick Avenue
  • Turn right onto Freeport Road
  • Turn right onto Route 910
  • Take the ramp to North 28 toward New Kensington/Tarentum
  • From northbound Route 28, take the ramp to Cheswick/Springdale (Exit 12)
  • Turn left onto Hite Road
  • Follow Hite Road back to Pillow Avenue
  • End detour

North of the Closure

  • Take Hite Road westbound
  • Turn left onto the ramp to South 28 toward Pittsburgh
  • From southbound Route 28, take the ramp to 76/910 toward Harmar (Exit 11)
  • Turn left onto Route 910
  • Turn left onto Freeport Road
  • Turn left onto Cheswick Avenue
  • Cheswick Avenue becomes Low Grade Road
  • Follow Low Grade Road back to Pillow Avenue
  • End detour
