PennDOT District 11 is announcing replacement work on the South Main Street Bridge (Route 3001) over Hickory Run in Bessemer Borough, Lawrence County will begin Monday, April 1 weather permitting.
A full closure of the bridge carrying South Main Street over Hickory Run between East Poland Road (Route 317) and Overlook Lane will begin at approximately 7 a.m. Monday morning and continue through late 2024 for bridge replacement work. Traffic will be detoured.

A full closure and detour for bridge replacement work on South Main Street over Hickory Run in Bessemer Borough is anticipated to begin early April 2024. Work on this $1.62 million project between Overlook Lane and East Poland Road intersections includes full replacement of the structure as well as approach roadway paving, drainage upgrades, and sign and pavement marking installation. The project is expected to conclude when the bridge reopens in late 2024.
