PennDOT District 11 is announcing single-lane restrictions on Washington Pike (Route 50) in Collier Township, Allegheny County will occur Saturday, April 26 weather permitting.
Single-lane restrictions will occur in both directions of Route 50 between the I-79 interchange and Mayer Street on Saturday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. to allow crews to conduct pavement widening operations.
Work on this $5.61 million widening project began in November 2022 and included roadway widening to accommodate exclusive left turn lanes at the Washington Pike (Route 50) intersection with Vanadium Road. Additionally, the Washington Pike and Vanadium Road intersection was redesigned to a standard plus intersection, eliminating the dual driveways at Eat’n Park and the former Peter’s Place. Other work includes new sidewalks, updated ADA curb ramps, traffic signal upgrades, signing and pavement marking updates, drainage guide rail work, and other miscellaneous construction.
