PennDOT District 11 is announcing overnight single-lane restrictions on Washington Pike (Route 50) in Collier Township, Allegheny County will begin Monday night, April 14.
Single-lane restrictions will occur, as needed, in both directions of Route 50 between the I-79 interchange and Mayer Street beginning Monday night, April 14 and will continue through mid-June. These restrictions will be implemented from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night, in one direction at a time, to allow crews to conduct drainage work and paving operations.
Work on this $5.61 million widening project began in November 2022 and included roadway widening to accommodate exclusive left turn lanes at the Washington Pike (Route 50) intersection with Vanadium Road. Additionally, the Washington Pike and Vanadium Road intersection was redesigned to a standard plus intersection, eliminating the dual driveways at Eat’n Park and the former Peter’s Place. Other work includes new sidewalks, updated ADA curb ramps, traffic signal upgrades, signing and pavement marking updates, drainage guide rail work, and other miscellaneous construction.
