PennDOT District 11 is announcing paving work on Route 50 (Washington Pike) in Collier Township, Allegheny County will begin today, Tuesday, November 19.
There will be a single-lane restriction in the westbound direction of Washington Pike between the I-79 interchange and Vanadium Road from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each weekday through Friday, November 22 to allow crews to conduct paving operations.
Please use caution when driving through the area. Work zone safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Work on this $5.61 million widening project began in November 2022. Work in 2024 includes roadway widening to accommodate exclusive left turn lanes at the Washington Pike (Route 50) intersection with Vanadium Road. Additionally, the Washington Pike and Vanadium Road intersection will be modified to a standard plus intersection, eliminating the existing dual driveways at Eat’n Park. Other work includes new sidewalks, updated ADA curb ramps, traffic signal upgrades, signing and pavement marking updates, drainage guide rail work, and other miscellaneous construction.
