The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Engineering District 11-0 and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) are pleased to invite you to attend a public informational meeting being conducted on Monday, January 27 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the Washington Pike (Route 50 A32) Widening project. This public meeting will provide preliminary project details, anticipated traffic control and tentative project schedule. The project team will be available to answer questions and gather feedback.

The meeting will be held:

Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Date: Monday, January 27

Location: Chartiers Valley High School, 50 Thoms Run Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017

The project involves the widening of Washington Pike (Route 50) in Collier Township, Allegheny County. The purpose for the project is to improve the safety and operations of the Washington Pike corridor and the Washington Pike/I-79 ramps intersection. The proposed project includes:

  • Widening along Washington Pike between Mayer Street and the Great Southern Shopping Center.
  • Widening between Vanadium Road and the ramps at I-79 for the extension of the left turn lane to Vanadium Road and to provide dual left turn lanes to the I-79 ramps.
  • Widening of the northbound entrance ramp to I-79.
  • Widening between the ramps at I-79 and Thoms Run Road.

The project is anticipated to begin construction in 2027.

For those unable to attend, public meeting materials will be posted to the website following the public meeting along with a comment form to gather feedback.
