PennDOT District 11 is announcing a single-lane restriction is underway on southbound Route 28 in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County.

A single-lane restriction has been implemented on southbound Route 28 (toward the North Shore) located between the ramp to the Veterans Bridge/Monroeville and Anderson Street.

As a reminder, a single-lane restriction remains in place on northbound Route 28 just south of the I-279 North/East Ohio Street exit. Additionally, a portion of the exit ramp is closed. However, motorists can still access the exit.

These restrictions are in place to accommodate investigation and miscellaneous construction activities on a pier that carries the I-579 High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane over Route 28. Crews found significant deterioration of the pier as a result of inspection activities that occurred on Friday, February 28.
