Mark your calendars, spread the word, and join the Week Without Driving from September 29 to October 5!

Imagine life without driving. Could you manage your daily routines, commute to work, visit the doctor, or connect with loved ones? This year, join Pittsburghers for Public Transit, BikePGH, AccessMob, and Age Friendly Greater Pittsburgh for a week to reconsider how our communities prioritize cars and explore how more accessible transportation can enhance connections, strengthen communities, and improve daily life for everyone. From September 29 to October 5, experience what it’s like for nearly 1 in 3 people in the U.S. who cannot drive. Reflect on our transportation systems and envision building something better.

Due to age, ability, or financial reasons, many Americans cannot drive and yet rely on a system designed for drivers. In our community, 30% of people don’t drive. The Week Without Driving offers a chance to see the world differently. Participants are encouraged to complete their routines using alternative transportation.

Communities everywhere are embracing this week and considering how non-drivers move. It’s a time to rethink building more accessible places for everyone. Whether you’re walking, biking, using public transit, or getting a ride, this week will inspire you to reimagine our streets. Join us in pledging to take a Week Without Driving. You can participate as an individual, organization, or elected official. Find out more and get involved at the Week Without Driving PGH website: https://weekwithoutdrivingpgh.org/
