The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing washing activities on the Port Vue Bridge (Route 2185) and the Glenwood Bridge (Route 885) in Allegheny County will begin Wednesday, June 3 weather permitting.

Bridge washing activities with lane restrictions will be conducted by Michael Facchiano Contracting weekdays from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM through mid-June on the following structures:

  • Glenwood Bridge over the Monongahela River in the City of Pittsburgh
  • Port Vue Bridge (15th Street Bridge) over the Youghiogheny River in the City of McKeesport and Port Vue Borough

Additional restrictions may occur on associated ramps and intersections. Please stay alert and drive cautiously – safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Drivers can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
