Northbound Route 837 to Southbound Route 885 Ramp Restriction Extended in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing a lane closure on the ramp that carries traffic from northbound Route 837 to southbound Route 885 in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, has been extended through September 2024.

An around-the-clock, long-term lane closure on the ramp that carries traffic from northbound Route 837 to southbound Route 885 (Glass Run Road/Mifflin Road exit) that began February 15 will remain in place through mid-September 2024. A single-lane of traffic will be maintained on the ramp as crews continue construction of a pedestrian walkway and ramp. Baldwin Road will be narrowed between Glass Run Road and Mifflin Road.

Additionally, a pedestrian detour will be implemented at 9 a.m. Thursday, September 21 and remain in place around-the-clock through mid-September 2024. Pedestrians heading southbound towards Route 837 will cross Second Avenue at Renova Street following the detour across the Glenwood Bridge, exiting at the stairs down to the restricted Glass Run Road/Mifflin Road exit ramp. Pedestrians will then follow the detoured path and cross over Glass Run Road and head eastbound to Baldwin Road, then travel north to Route 837. Pedestrians heading northbound will utilize the same detour in the opposite direction.

Crews from Gulisek Construction, LLC will conduct the work.

Please use caution and allow extra time if traveling through the area.
