The Department of Public Works announced today that periodic lane closures on Simpson Howell Road in Elizabeth Township will begin at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. The restrictions will occur between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays, and they are expected to end in October. They are required for chip sealing, base repairs, and drainage improvements.

Drivers can expect to experience short stoppages at work zones, and flaggers will be used to control traffic.

Simpson Howell Road is used by an average of 4,237 drivers daily.

The project will be done by A. Folino Construction, Inc., of Oakmont as part of a $5.6 million contract that includes work on eight other roads.
