PennDOT District 11 is announcing lane restrictions on Route 2048 (William Penn Highway/Business 22) in Churchill Borough, Wilkins Township, and the Municipality of Monroeville, Allegheny County will continue Monday, January 22 weather permitting.

Single-lane restrictions will occur around the clock in various location on Business 22 in both directions between the outbound (eastbound) I-376 (Parkway East) off-ramp to Business 22/Monroeville (Exit 80) in Churchill and Route 48 in Monroeville through late November. Crews will conduct pavement patching operations, curb replacement and drainage repairs.

Work on this $23.84 million William Penn Highway (Business Route 22) preservation and rehabilitation project began in 2023 in Wilkins Township, Churchill Borough, and the Municipality of Monroeville between Huntingdon Drive and Mosside Boulevard. While crews conduct milling and resurfacing, base repairs, curbing, sidewalk, drainage, guide rail, signing, and pavement markings, motorists can expect single-lane closures. Additionally, in 2024 a full closure of the ramp to Monroeville Mall and detour is anticipated for rehabilitation work. Overall work will conclude in the fall of 2024.

Please use caution in the area.

Crews from Golden Triangle Construction will conduct the work.
