You’ll save time, avoid congestion, and do your part to clean our air!

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing traffic signal upgrade work on Washington Pike/Washington Avenue (Route 50) in Bridgeville and Heidelberg boroughs and Collier and Scott townships, Allegheny County will begin Wednesday, May 20 weather permitting.

There will be short-term restrictions each weekday, as needed, through late November according to the following schedule:

  • Shoulder closures will occur from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Short-term single-lane restrictions will occur from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM

The following intersections will be impacted throughout the duration of the project:

  • Washington Avenue (Route 50) and Prestley Road (Route 3031) in Bridgeville Borough
  • Washington Pike (Route 50) and Chartiers Valley Shopping Center in Collier Township
  • Washington Pike (Route 50) and Commercial Drive/Mayer Street in Collier Township
  • Washington Pike (Route 50) at the intersection with the Great Southern Shopping Center in Collier Township
  • Washington Pike (Route 50) and Vanadium Road in Collier Township
  • Washington Pike (Route 50) and the I-79 interchange in Collier Township
  • Washington Pike (Route 50) and Steen Road in Collier Township
  • Washington Pike (Route 50) and Thoms Run Road in Collier Township
  • Washington Pike (Route 50) and Collier Town Square Drive in Collier Township
  • Washington Pike (Route 50) and Raceway Plaza Drive in Scott Township
  • Washington Pike (Route 50) and Greentree Road (Route 3052) in Heidelberg Borough
  • Washington Pike (Route 50) and Collier Avenue (Route 3052) in Heidelberg Borough
