The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing mobile lane restrictions in the Fort Pitt (Interstate 376) and Liberty (Route 3069) tunnels in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will occur Sunday, August 16 weather permitting.

Mobile single-lane restrictions with up to 15-minute rolling stoppages will occur from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM Sunday morning to allow crews to conduct survey work according to the schedule listed below:

Fort Pitt Tunnel

  • Eastbound (inbound) I-376 restrictions will occur between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM
  • Westbound (outbound) I-376 restrictions will occur between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM

Liberty Tunnel

  • Northbound (inbound) Route 3069 restrictions will occur between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM
  • Southbound (outbound) Route 3069 restrictions will occur between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM

Travelers can check conditions on major roads by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts
