The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing improvement work on Route 48 (Boston Hollow Road/Walnut Street/Scenery Drive) in Elizabeth Township, the City of McKeesport, and Lincoln and Versailles boroughs, Allegheny County will begin Monday, April 27 weather permitting.
Single-lane alternating traffic will occur on Route 48 weekdays from 9:00 AM to 6:00 AM the next morning in the following locations:
- Walnut Street between Long Run Road in the City of McKeesport and the Boston Bridge in Versailles Borough
- Boston Hollow Road between West Smithfield Street and Broadlawn Drive in Lincoln Borough and Elizabeth Township
- Scenery Drive between Broadlawn Drive and Happy Hollow Road in Elizabeth Township
Crews will conduct milling and paving operations.
The prime contractor is A. Liberoni, Inc. on this $8.51 million group paving project. Improvement work includes milling and paving, drainage upgrades, base repair, pavement marking installation, guide rail improvements, and other various construction related activities. Restriction times will vary throughout sections of the project. Additional information will be provided as the project progresses.
