The Department of Public Works announced that Thompson Road between Hemphill Road and Sun Mine Road in Fawn Township has reopened to traffic. The closure, which began on May 25, 2023, was required for replacement of Bull Creek Bridge No. 7, including new pavement, guide rail, pavement markings, and signage.

Another section of Thompson Road – between Hemphill Road and Sportsman Club Road – will close at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 13. That closure, which is expected to end in June 2024, is required for replacement of Bull Creek Bridge No. 8, including new pavement, guide rail, pavement markings, and signage.

Traffic will be detoured using Millerstown Road, Millerstown Culmerville Road, Bakerstown Road, Little Deer Creek Valley Road, Saxonburg Boulevard, and Dawson Road.

Both bridge projects are being done by Pugliano Construction Company, Inc., of Plum as part of a $2.3 million contract.
