The Department of Public Works announced today that it has granted a permit to Bike Pittsburgh to close the inbound Armstrong Tunnel and the Philip Murray (South Tenth Street) Bridge in the City of Pittsburgh for OpenStreetsPGH. The closures will occur from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

The outbound Armstrong Tunnel remains closed as part of an ongoing rehabilitation project.

Drivers needing to get around the Armstrong Tunnel and Philip Murray Bridge closures are encouraged to use either the Smithfield Street Bridge or the Birmingham Bridge.

In addition to the two county-owned structures, the event will involve other road closures within the City of Pittsburgh. Drivers will be able to cross the closed event route at several intersections. To view the event route and the crossable intersections, visit https://openstreetspgh.org/route/.
